Profile 1: Internet addict/ Social networking junkie

We all love to surf the web and some of us are social junkie such that we are online 24x7 refreshing our email, Facebook accounts again and again after every few seconds. Many junkies keep on uploading photos or videos on Flickr and YouTube.  So your basic requirements could be:

1.     Screen Type

Smartphones normally come with a keypad or touchscreen. In this era of technology we generally prefer our smartphones to be touchscreen. Touchscreen usually comes in two ways resistive and capacitive.

Resistive touchscreens: These touchscreens are made up of layers and work by sensing pressure. When we touch the screen the topmost layers get pressed with the layer beneath it and hence, the bottom most layer tells which area of the screen has been pressed.

Capacitive touchscreens: These screens make use of electrodes which are present on screens surface and give the area of screen pressed. The screen with capacitive resistance requires a light touch and is good in response with just a light touch. Hence, is better than the resistive touchscreens.
The above screens are fabricated with two technologies:
TFT (Thin Film Tube)
AMOLED (Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode). “More Advanced

2.     Camera

Smartphones normally comes with 5 megapixel camera, which is good but, not better than your digital camera but, still enough to post the clicked pictures onto Facebook etc. There are some good expensive smartphones also which comes with more than 5 megapixel camera. The camera should also have LED flash and autofocus capability.

3.     HD Video Recording

Coming to the high definition video recording you can find various smartphones in the range of 720p video recording which is good and is much sharper than the normal phones. The smartphones with HD recording has a good expandable memory too as these video eat a lot of space.

One thing which has just been introduced in telecom industry this year is 3G. The people who surf the web a lot on their phone would love to go for a 3G connection. But, for this one thing your smartphone should possess is 3G capability.

Internet junkies love to make use of the technology at its best. So they would definitely want a smartphone with GPS which would pinpoint their location anywhere they go and also would integrate Google maps for the shortest path for location they want to travel too.

Profile 2: Mobile Gaming Field

The hardcore gamers want every gadget they have should be filled with the games which they love to play. They would want a gaming adrenaline rush even while walking on the roadside which a good smartphone could easily provide if bought skillfully.

1.     Processor

Every gaming machine is about the processor it has embedded in it. Many mobile games are coming up in the market having high graphics and eat up lots of processor. For good functionality as a gaming phone the smartphones are coming up with Graphics processing unit (GPU) such as adreno and tegra etc. The GPU and CPU (Central Processing Unit) are embedded together under a single hut. For a smartphone to work efficiently it should have a 1GHZ CPU. The other capability which various smartphones possess is dual core processors hence, not requiring GPUs.

2.     Memory

Conventionally, the more the memory the better is the ability to run multiple applications. A gaming smartphone should consist of at least 512MB of RAM.

3.     Accelerometer

This is a little component in the phone that senses its orientation, and is definitive plus for lending that tactile edge to your mobile gaming experience. Therefore, the user would be able to play the games by tilting their phone.

Profile 3: Pin-striped power player

Talking about the corporates buying a smartphone would require their device to have easy email access and the ability to work on the documents and presentations while travelling. This profile would include some of the characteristics of other profiles such as: processor speed, memory, and screen and 3G capability. And with all these additions which come into picture are:

1.     Microsoft Exchange Mail Server Capability

In case your organization supports Microsoft exchange mail (Which most of the organization mostly do) then you will need it in your phone, as you can easily access your emails while travelling. If it is not used than ‘Push Mail’ is also worth a choice.

2.     Wi-Fi

You also might want to consider a gadget which consists of Wi-Fi. This will help you to connect to internet in your office or anywhere and you can easily send the files to recipients without even getting charged from your phone service provider.

3.     Battery Life

The main issue of concern which corporate’s face is battery life. If they want to work on large data files and presentation and want their phone to work all day long than their smartphone should have a good battery life, without having to plug in and charge phone again and again. So the minimum battery which your smartphone should have is of at least 1400 mAH.
